Max Cruz from his real name, Maxime De La Cruz was born in Montreal on April 9th 1984. He was born and raised on the South Shore of Montreal. This young artist discovered his talent for poetry and writing at the age of 13 years old. He later put his devotion for words and the love that he had for music together and started to craft his talent.

He was firstly part of a group called The Committee. His group shared the stage with international artists such as Busta Flex, Oxmo Puccino, M-1 of Dead Prez and they also served as one of the opening acts for Ludacris first and only show in Montreal to date. The Committee also won the second place for the 2006 edition of the Hip Hop forever festival, a festival that brought the best out of all the different regions in the province of Quebec.
 

Now that he became a solo artist, Max Cruz is currently working with the producer Pascalin, the son of the famous singer Ginette Reno, for which he entirely produced her whole album. Max Cruz was also featured in the movie Transit (2009), written and produced by Christian De La Cortina and staring Luc Morissette, Julie Du Page et Hugo St-Cyr just to name a few.

Today, as an artist, Max Cruz developed a style that keeps evolving every time you hear him. Through his lyrics, he expresses and describes what’s surrounding him and the truth and realities of life.
 

Having in mind other subjects than money, drugs and cars he’s doing a great job at straying away from the usual clichés of this Hip Hop industry. He’s firstly seeking to reach the masses with subject that concerns them and topics that are life changing. His music is refreshing, sincere, and powerful and entertaining, which perfectly reflects his own personality. Focusing on versatility he’s constantly trying to achieve new level of success in his work. For him “the truth is the key that can unlock several doors in life. We shouldn’t take anything for granted wheter they are big or small. If we wish to make a difference we need to get in the crowd and then lead by our actions in order to be an example of success”. Max Cruz considers his talent as a gift and his more than determined to share it with the masses.
 

‘‘Words mentioned to describe vain intentions will attract your downfall but sincere actions will bring a change. I want people to see rap music from a different angle. The stereotypes, (Money, gangsters, women and cars) will not be the subjects that will bring a change in the society, but the artists bold enough to talk about real issues, (motivation, pain, religion, love) will give a second wind to this art form that is unfortunately slowly fading away”.
 

Max Cruz has the intention to leave his mark in this music world, all we have to do now is wait and observe his evolution from the rest of the pack.
