Adalid release a new video called "Music/Underdog" off his album "Stravin"
Adalid (Add-uh-lee) traveled a long journey to be where he is today. Literally. Adalid was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. As a rebellious teenager, he had selfish intentions at heart; make money and make a name for himself.
In high school, you could find him in the lunch line freestyling/ rap battling. The selfish ambitions grew as he started to get recognition and respect for his lyrical talent. Adalid began recording mixtapes and distributing them in his local city hoping to land a record deal. It wasn't until he was born-again, did he understand his gift or its' purpose. On June 4, 2005, Adalid had an encounter with God while attending the funeral of a high school classmate. He experienced the tangible presence of God for the first time and was changed forever.
Two months later, the city of New Orleans was devastated by one of the worst disasters to ever hit the United States, Hurricane Katrina. Faced with a difficult decision, he and his fiancé, Crystal, decided to relocate. They moved 700 miles from their home, family and friends. Where did God lead them? A humble town in Indiana called New Albany. It was there that he married Crystal. They both contemplated going back to New Orleans, but God revealed to them that this was where He wanted them to be.
7 years later, Adalid is heavily involved with the youth and travels all over the United States ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ; following the path that God has ordained. Adalid has shared stages with artists such as Lecrae, Tedashii, K-Drama, FLAME and many others. His first mixtape was released in October 2010 entitled, "Work In Progress". His latest album, "Starvin'" was released on May 10th, 2011.
Adalid's life is a testimony of Romans 8:28 - "We know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
